Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has been hit hard by his defender's injury during the international stop.
The Argentine midfielder, Javier Mascherano, 33, suffered a torn thigh muscle for a month's absence during the Argentina match with Nigeria, which the Tango lost 4-2.
Valverde is in trouble after Mascherano's injury, as Pique and Ommetti are threatened with suspension during the next legian clash, before the Valencia match at Mestalla, in which case the coach will have to rely on Thomas Vermaelen, who has long been absent.
Mascherano is expected to miss the team, outside Camp Nou, against Legianis, Valencia and Juventus. He will also miss Villarreal and Celtic Vigo in Barcelona, as well as the return of the King's Cup, to Real Murcia.
Mascherano's return on December 17 awaits Deportivo La Coruna, one week before the Clasico match.
